Beautiful courses in a great area for golf
With its mild climate and picture-perfect landscapes‚ Johnston County offers a year-round golf haven in central North Carolina. Golfers in this part of the state enjoy sunny weather throughout the year, and there are six challenging courses, all conveniently located. A semi-private facility featuring over 5,100 yards from the red tees and 7,000 yards of rolling terrain from the back tees. Towering pines and a hazardous flowing creek compliment the challenging layout. Driving range, practice green and fully-stocked pro shop are available.
Country Club of Johnston County

The public course is located along picturesque Holt Lake, just south of Smithfield. Designed by Ellis Maples and built in the 1940’s, the course offers rolling fairways and challenging approach shots. Par 72. The Country Club of Johnston County is the home course for PGA golfer Neal Lancaster, a Smithfield native.
Neuse Golf Club

Designed by John LaFoy, this course offers a thrilling 7,000-yard roller coaster ride that belies its peaceful setting along the banks of the Neuse River. When it opened in 1994, it was ranked the best new course in North Carolina by Golf Digest. Open year round and is wheelchair accessible. Par 72.

Redesigned by Bob Moore and newly-renovated in 2001, this public course offers 6,330 yards of Bermuda fairways and bentgrass Crenshaw greens. Par 71.

One of eastern North Carolina’s top-rated public golf courses, Reedy Creek offers a fully-stocked Pro Shop, Snack Bar, Grill, practice green and driving range. Gene Hamm designed the course that opened in 1988.
