Grand Openings & Ribbon Cuttings

A ribbon cutting, grand opening or open house event is a great way to introduce your business to the community and your fellow Chamber members. Your event can be as simple, informal, extravagant or ceremonious as you want it to be. It's your event and should reflect your company's values and personality.

The Smithfield-Selma Chamber provides several resources at no charge to help you create a memorable event:

• Ribbon, bow & scissors
• An email notification to the Chamber membership about the event and placement on the Chamber and Community Calendars. Mailing labels of the membership are available from the office for a small charge.
• Attendance by Chamber leaders and staff. The Chamber will encourage the Ambassadors and other Chamber leaders to attend the function. At least one staff member from the Chamber will also attend.
• A picture, taken at the event, that can be used in the Chamber newsletter, on the website and in the local media. The Chamber will email the picture to the host if requested.

For ground breaking ceremonies, the Chamber will email a notification to the membership and take a picture for the media.
