Howard Best Award

The Greater Smithfield-Selma Area Chamber of Commerce presents the Howard Best Award each year at the Annual Meeting in January. It is given to the outstanding member of the Board of Directors for the previous year.

The award is made in memory of Howard Best, the Carolina Power & Light Office Manager in Selma, who was killed in a tragic accident in May, 1987. Mr. Best was serving as Community Betterment Vice President of the Chamber at the time of his death. It is sponsored by W. Landis Bullock Industrial Contractor Supply of Smithfield.
