Public Policy Division

The Chamber’s Public Policy Division works to develop or improve the product we sell -- Smithfield-Selma and Johnston County. The division strives to be a lead advocate for business issues through unique programs and legislative agendas that enhance the area's quality of life -- including a revitalized downtown, improved transportation infrastructure, and maintaining a top-notch public school system. Chamber activities include consistent interaction with our city councils, the Johnston County Commission, the North Carolina General Assembly and congressional leaders in Washington, D.C.

Programs of the Public Policy Division include:

Business agendas - local and regional
Community Visioning
Good Morning Smithfield-Selma events
Leadership Roundtable

The Public Policy Committee meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 12:00 noon at the Chamber office. If you would like to participate on this committee or would like more information, please contact Kelly Wallace at 919-934-9166 or kwallace(at)smithfieldselma.com.
