Washington Perspective

The Greater Smithfield-Selma Area Chamber of Commerce works closely with national pollitical leaders on issues such as education, transportation and health care. The Chamber's Public Policy Committee meets with our Congressman, US Senators and other federal officials on a regular basis and host local events for the membership when they are available.

Each year, the Chamber partcipates in The Washington Perspective, a two-day, bipartisan seminar in the national's capital, hosted by Second District Congressman Bob Etheridge and six other Congressmen from North Carolina. National leaders on both sides of the isle speak to Chamber leaders throughout North Carolina.

While in Washington, the Chamber delegation presents a local federal agenda during private meetings with our Congressional delegation.
